Image and board size: 8 in. x 10 in.
Mixed media (acrylic, oil, paper and athletic tape) on illustration board.
I did this painting in the late '90s (1999 I think). It was months after the heavyweight championship boxing match when Mike Tyson bit Evander Holyfield's ear. Tyson was disqualified and his boxing license suspended. In this painting, Tyson is depicted as a boxing glove with athletic tape wrapped around the wrist to tighten the glove and at the same time it is used to cover Tyson's mouth.
